Blue Velvet coming to Blu-ray in November

Remember how we were gabbing way back in January about David Lynch‘s Blue Velvet coming to Blu-ray some time this year? Well, it’s finally happening and all signs point to November 8th! By all signs, of course, I mean Amazon.com, who’ve got the disc available for pre-order priced at $17.49, shipping on that date. There’s yet to be an official announcement from MGM/Fox so we don’t have a solid idea of what special features might appear on the disc. We can only hope that the rumoured inclusion of the long-lost deleted scenes will come to pass. Here’s hoping we find out soon. (The video above is a reconstruction of some of the lost scenes from the previously released Special Edition DVD.)

In other unofficial MGM news, it looks like the studio is planning on releasing a bunch of other titles around the same time, including (but not limited to) the original The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, Quigley Down Under and Big Country. Again, no details yet but here’s some package art for you to look at.
