Is this unprecedented? A film less than three weeks in theatres showing up for pre-order on Amazon, complete with package art and a suggested retail price? I feel kinda…dirty. Like we should still be giving Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides a chance to live on the big screen before signing up to grab the Blu-ray. Nevertheless, here we are. With three purchasing options for the film – a five-disc combo pack (Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD, Digital Copy and, I suppose, a disc of bonus stuff) and a couple of packaging options for the two-disc Blu-ray/DVD combo. The hefty five-disc pack comes in at a suggested price of $49.99 while both two-packs are ten bucks cheaper. No further details are know at this time but I suspect Disney will want to head the leaks off at the pass and get us some official info sooner rather than later.
UPDATE: Ooops! I totally missed the new and improved Pirates Collection boxed set. This bad boy is a 15-disc set and looks to include everything from the previous set plus the new film on 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Copy, all hidden within pretty cool-looking treasure chest packaging. There’s also some sort of little round map included.

This movie pales in comparison to the first. It is not as good as the second or third either. It is bad enough that I actually had to stop watching it and take a break. It just seems cheesy to the point of being stupid. There are a few scenes that make it watchable though. The mermaid scene is really cool and reminds me of the quality of the first movie alot.
