The Big Lebowski coming to Blu-ray in August

Amazon.ca has spilled the beans that we can expect Universal to release the Coen brothers‘ 1998 film The Big Lebowski on Blu-ray this coming August 16th. No details are yet available but it’s clear from the image of the included art that the disc will come packaged in a hardcover digi-book. Don’t be surprised if the Blu-ray mimics the previously available HD-DVD release of the film, which sported a nice HD transfer but was woefully lite on extras (intro to the film, 25-minute making of doc and a photo montage.) We should know more shortly, once the studio makes their official announcement.
