Alien Anthology Blu-ray Boxed Set Officially Announced and Detailed

Oh god oh geez oh god oh geez. This is fracking amazing! Fox has officially (finally!) announced their mega-awesome Alien Anthology Blu-ray boxed set and it appears to be everything we’ve been praying for and more!

Along with all of the bonus content from every single previous incarnation of the Alien films on home video (including the old Laserdisc release!!) Fox has included over four hours of previously unseen exclusive material including deleted scenes (the “Burke Cocoon” scene!), Sigourney Weaver‘s original screentests, thousands of photographs and a previously unseen cut of “Wreckage and Rage: Making Alien³” (adding over 30-minutes of excised and new footage from the doc that was originally titled “Wreckage and Rape“!) Combine that bounty of Alien goodness with two cuts of each film and you’ve got an absolutely killer boxed set that should be on every film enthusiast and fanboy’s holiday wish list.

The Alien Anthology Blu-ray boxed set is already available for pre-order at Amazon.com for only $97.99.

NOTE: BIll Hunt over at thedigitalbits.com has received art (above) and some limited details regarding the special “limited edition” version of the boxed set, which comes packaged in a “an exclusive illuminated statue sculpted by Sideshow Collectibles (SRP $149.99)” available for pre-order next week at Comic Con. This seems very much in line with images we previously published of the Alien Anthology boxed set in this post. I’m sure we’ll learn more about the set next week, once Comic Con kicks into high gear…
