Hayao Miyazaki‘s Ponyo hasn’t even hit theatres in North America yet and it looks like we have a release date for the Blu-ray and DVD versions of the film. I had surmised in a previously article that because Ponyo was scheduled for a December Blu-ray release in Japan, we would end up seeing it in US and Canadian shops around that time. Well, according to listings in the newest Diamond Distributor catalogue, Ponyo will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on October 28. It looks like there will be a single DVD disc, movie only edition at $19.99, a special edition multi-disc DVD set at $32.99 and a Blu-ray release at $39.99.
