This weeks new Blu-ray releases include ‘NAUSICAÄ OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND’ from Disney, ‘THE WALKING DEAD: SEASON ONE’ from Anchor Bay, ‘EXCALIBUR’ from Warner, ‘MORNING GLORY’ from Paramount, ‘INSIDE JOB’ from Sony and many, many more!

Top 5 New Blu-ray releases for the Week of May 4

This might not be the biggest, most overwhelming release week of the year but there are a couple Blu-ray discs here that any serious collection simply can’t be without. And everything else this week somehow seems lesser as a result. That’s not to say the other films aren’t worth watching but when you’ve got two behemoths of cinema vying for your attention as these discs are, it’s tough to validate giving their competitors even the slightest regard. I know, I know…it’s not perfect. It’s got a lot of problems. It’s not exactly like the book. It’s ridiculous and weird. I’ve heard it all before. But I grew up with this adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi classic and like a lot of failed genre films from the 80s, it has a very special place in my heart. I’m excited to finally get to see it in beautiful 1080p. …Continued…

Star Trek: The Next Generation Motion Picture Collection Blu-ray Disc Review

I was always more of a Kirk than Picard kind of guy. That being said, I would never turn down a new episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation when I was growing up. I had overdosed on the classic brand by the time Picard and crew hit the airwaves and was just happy to watch new adventures of the starship Enterprise, whatever the version number. …Continued…
