Warrior Blu-ray announced and detailed

I’ve heard from my critic pals that Gavin O’Connor’s Warrior is something like the Footloose of fighting films – cheesy and melodramatic but oddly satisfying. I don’t know about you but I don’t need anyone telling me anything about the film beyond the fact that it’s got young Uncle Owen in the ring with the evil Romulan clone of Captain Jean Luc Picard (aka notorious Batman back-breaker Bane!) to sell me on this bad boy. And this batch of announcements, all due out this coming September is no exception. From Godard to Malick, Donen to Oshima – these are all incredible movies and I need to own them all on Blu-ray! Details below: …Continued…

Criterion preparing Terrence Malick's The Thin Red Line for Blu-ray?

I never thought I would say this but I freaking love Twitter! About an hour ago, Ben Lim, one of the fine fellows who work for The Criterion Collection tweeted a photo with the note “Screening the HD master of an upcoming release…“. That image appears to be from Terrence Malick’s brilliant The Thin Red Line providing evidence that my favourite home video label is preparing to release the 1998 film! …Continued…
