New Trainspotting Blu-ray in September
Trainspotting is one of my favourite films of all time. It’s probably in my Top 10. I know, I know, it’s a lot of style-over-substance with a forced third act but I don’t care. I think it’s amazing. One of Danny Boyle’s best. The film has been out on Blu-ray in the UK for a couple of years now and we’ve had a fairly crap Alliance version available here in Canada since April of 2009. And now, at long last, the US is to finally receive its own version from Miramax and Lionsgate this coming September 13th. …Continued…

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief Blu-ray Disc Review
I thought I’d follow up my viewing of a classic film about Greek mythology with a brand new, modern film about Greek mythology! I can’t say that I’m surprised that Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief is a far, far cry from Harryhausen’s Jason and the Argonauts and actually has way more in common with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Top 5 New Blu-ray releases for the Week of June 29
It’s been a hell of a week. I don’t know if you’ve been following Twitter as we suffer through the odyssey that is keeping The Blu-ray Blog online, but I’ve been forced to take the site down and rebuild it TWICE in the last seven days! You know Blu-ray disc has finally hit the big-time when little sites that talk about it, like this one become targets. I’m really sorry if the non-stop barrage of spam ads has upset your enjoyment of the site. I’m desperately trying to fend these jerks off and promise to keep on top of it, as best as I can.
