Lost: The Complete Sixth and Final Season Blu-ray Disc Review

Count me among the legion of viewers and fans who were left empty by the Lost series finale. What a disappointment. It was a lackluster conclusion to an imperfect season of television. The same can’t be said for the Lost: The Complete Sixth and Final Season Blu-ray disc set. Aside from the show itself, there’s very little to take issue with here. …Continued…

Lost: The Complete Fifth Season Blu-ray Disc Review

Lost just about lost me. J.J. Abrams’ castaway drama had one of the strongest openings of any TV show I’ve ever seen but squandered that beginning over the ensuing couple of seasons with meandering, plotless episodes that led us further from the mystery at the heart of the show. Thankfully, things have tightened up in the last couple of years. And I’m happy to say, this fifth season of the series is the strongest ever! …Continued…

Blu-ray Picks for the Week of December 8

Oh, what a weird day today! Was awakened at 5AM by bad porch kitten, iPhone died around 7AM, almost choked on a Cinnamon Streusel Mini-Wheat at 9AM, now I’m left exhausted, out-of-touch and coughing, to wade through this weeks new Blu-ray releases. Thankfully, there aren’t a lot of quality discs out today (there is a whole pile of crap, direct to video kind of stuff I’ll just ignore) but the discs worth noting are most certainly worth rushing out to pick up. …Continued…

Star Trek (2009) Blu-ray Disc Review

This is probably my favourite new title of the year. Yes, I’m a nerd. But while my Trek-loving tendencies may be to blame in part for my enthusiasm, this new film is so all-around entertaining that everyone I know who had a chance to see it enjoyed J.J. Abrams’ re-imagining of Star Trek immensely. I just watched the new Blu-ray edition of it and to be honest, I can’t wait to watch it again! …Continued…

[VIDEO] Star Trek (2009) Blu-ray Preview – Deleted Scene: Diora Baird as Orion Slave Girl

I’m sorry to disappoint you, skin fans. But this is the infamous Diora Baird (The Wedding Crashers, Young People Fucking) cut scene from the upcoming Star Trek Blu-ray disc. One line of dialogue. No boobs. I mean, the scene is actually pretty funny, when taken in context of the film. But I think when it was announced that she would be playing a green-skinned Orion Slave Girl in the film, a lot of you had been getting your hopes up for something more along the lines of Ms. Baird’s previous clothing-optional celluloid appearances. Sadly, this was not to be. But hey, that’s what sequels are for right? …Continued…
