[VIDEO] Blue Underground interview reveals Upcoming Titles

William Lustig, director of such infamous indie hits as Maniac Cop and Vigilante, also happens to be the man in charge of home video label Blue Underground. In this new video interview with AVManiacs.com/The Cinefiles he reveals that we can look forward to seeing Lucio Fulci’s Zombie and House by the Cemetery, as well as Dario Argento’s Cat O’Nine Tails, Inferno and Deep Red on Blu-ray in the coming months. All films will be sporting brand new 2K transfers and special features. …Continued…

Daughters of Darkness coming to Blu-ray in February

I haven’t seen Daughters of Darkness for years but remember being glued to the screen any time the vampy Andrea Rau was in a scene. Aside from that, I recall there being a lot of skin and adult nastiness in the film. All good things in vampire cinema, to be sure! Here’s hoping all that flesh turns up in a fresh new high-def transfer from Blue Underground in February (delayed from the previously announced December date.) …Continued…

The Prowler Blu-ray Disc Review

As much as I love the horror genre, I’ve never really cared for slasher fliks. Freddy and Jason have never been my cup of tea. Imagine my surprise when I found myself enjoying the heck out of Blue Underground’s new Blu-ray edition of the 1981 rarely-seen sleeper slasher, The Prowler! …Continued…

New Blu-ray Announcement Round-Up – The New York Ripper, Night Train, Go, Obsessed, Hannah Montana: The Movie

Here’s a whole crap-load of announcements that have dropped in the last couple of days, most of which I couldn’t give a rat’s ass about. I mean, I loved Doug Liman’s Go when I watched it. But that was a long time ago. And I’ve never really felt inspired to take a trip back and revisit it. I’m kind of excited about New York Ripper for a couple of reasons, despite never having seen it: One, it’s a Lucio Fulci film (it’s gonna be trashy fun!) and two, it’s from Blue Underground.

Blue Underground are like the Criterion of B-Movies, grabbing up the good stuff and providing the titles respectful releases. I’ll check out pretty much anything they deliver. Aside from that, this list of new Blu-ray release announcements kind of bores me. And, in the case of Hannah Montana, kind of offends me!
