[VIDEO] Captain America: The First Avenger Blu-ray trailer

Heyyyyy. Remember how once upon a time we had all the details and art for the Captain America: The First Avenger Blu-ray releases and then BAM, they were gone? Yeah. Those are the pains of having early info but being friendly with the studio and the studio really not wanting that info to get out into the wild yet. So, I pulled the story. And every other site ran with it. Sigh… Well, now that the Blu-ray has officially been announced, I’ve brought the old story back and I’m now clear to post this trailer, which actually shows a decent amount of behind-the-scenes clips from Captain America as well as from the upcoming Joss Wedon film, The Avengers. The Captain America: The First Avenger Blu-ray hits shelves on October 25. …Continued…

[VIDEO] Jackie Brown Blu-ray trailer

We’re a couple of weeks out from finally getting our hands on Blu-ray versions of Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown. Lionsgate posted their humourous Pulp Fiction trailer a couple of weeks ago and have now made available the one above, pimping the Jackie Brown disc. I’ve got my fingers crossed that these discs are going to deliver, with modern, film-like transfers and thumping clear lossless DTS tracks. We’ll know for sure on October 4th! …Continued…

[VIDEO] Funny Pulp Fiction Blu-ray trailer

We, the ticket and Blu-ray buying audience, always appreciate seeing that the studios understand how we feel about their films. With that in mind, it’s nice to see this new video from Lionsgate, which accurately sums up our feelings about the obscenely long wait for Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction to finally make its Blu-ray debut (in stores October 4th.) Check it out! …Continued…

[VIDEO] X-Men: First Class Blu-ray trailer

I watched the DVD screener of X-Men: First Class that Fox sent over the other night and, once again, enjoyed the heck out the film. In fact, I was trying to get work done while it was playing, which proved pointless, as I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen. This is one hell of a fun little film! I’m really looking forward to Friday, September the 9th, the grab this up on Blu-ray and check it out in high-def. I’m expecting great things from this one. …Continued…

[VIDEO] Restoring Lucio Fulci’s Zombie for Blu-ray

Lucio Fulci’s Zombie hits Blu-ray almost exactly two months from now, on October 25th. To tease a little further, before we get our rotting fingers on the disc, Blue Underground posted this video detailing the restoration process they’re using to bring the film up to the standards we expect for its high-def debut. …Continued…

[VIDEO] Citizen Kane: 70th Anniversary Ultimate Collector’s Edition Blu-ray trailer

Yeah, I know I just posted about this bad boy a couple of weeks ago but Citizen Kane coming to Blu-ray is huge news. This might well be the Blu-ray release of the year! I’m double dipping these posts because Warner has just unleashed the first trailer for the disc set upon us. I’m not sure if they’ll be pimping Orson Welles‘ cinema classic on TV using this short clip but at least we get to see it here on the web. …Continued…

[VIDEO] Three Reasons: Life During Wartime – The Criterion Collection

Criterion’s new Blu-ray edition of Todd Solondz’ Life During Wartime is, without a doubt, beyond reproach. It’s absolutely stunning and absolutely packed to the rafters with bonus goodies. My only problem with it is the film itself. I don’t really care for it. And that comes as somewhat of a shock to me, as I counted myself among the few who loved the director’s Happiness – the film for which Wartime serves as a nominal sequel of sorts. …Continued…

[VIDEO] Another Star Wars: The Complete Saga Blu-ray trailer

Okay. One more trailer pimping the Star Wars: The Complete Saga Blu-ray set before it hits US and Canadian shops on September 16th. …Continued…

[VIDEO] Three Reasons: Orpheus – The Criterion Collection

If you’re not yet excited enough about this month’s slate of Blu-ray titles from Criterion, check out the video above. The latest ‘Three Reasons’ trailer from the studio will give you a taste of why you need to get your hands on the August 30th high-def debut of Jean Cocteau’s dreamy Orpheus. …Continued…

[VIDEO] The Digital Bits’ Golden Age of Blu-ray Panel

I can honestly say that there’s nothing that makes me regret missing Comic Con more every year (because I actually miss it every single year) than Bill Hunt‘s (of The Digital Bits‘ Bill Hunts) annual home video panel. And not just because he gives away amazing Blu-ray and DVD boxed sets (although that’s probably pretty great too!) Thankfully this year, the good folks at Gamespot recorded the panel and have posted it online for our viewing pleasure. You’ll hear Bill moderate a discussion between Adam Jahnke (of the Bits), producers Charles de Lauzirika (Blade Runner, Alien Anthology) and Cliff Stephenson (Rambo, The Expendables) and George Feltenstein, the man who makes Warner‘s Blu-ray discs happen. …Continued…
