Park Chan-wook's Vengeance Trilogy comes to Blu-ray in March

Palisades Tartan is bringing Park Chan-wook‘s brilliant Vengeance Trilogy to Blu-ray! This is fantastic news for those of us jealous of the recent, complete DVD releases. While one part of the trilogy, Oldboy has been available to us on Blu since November 2007, it looked like we would have to settle for standard def editions of the other two films. Well, now we can save our pennies and pick up the multi disc set on Blu!

Just when and where you’ll be able to grab the discs, however, is another matter. According to the excellent and quite reliable Asian Blu-ray Guide, the March release of the Trilogy, housed in a collectable tin, will be a Best Buy exclusive until June 15, when it will then be released to all retail outlets in its standard slipcase edition.

Complete details for the comprehensive 8-Disc set have yet to be revealed. What follows is a list of the announced special features. We’ll update the post when we learn more.

  1. [...] As we told you in our January post, Palisades Tartan is bringing Park Chan-wook’s brilliant Vengeance Trilogy to Blu-ray. While we were very excited to break this news, there was still some question about the contents of the set. It’s now come to light, a mere week before the discs are meant to street at Best Buy (who reportedly have the exclusive until June) that this will only be a 3-disc boxed set, not the 8-Disc set that was rumoured previously. In addition, the list of special features has been updated and includes the wonderful three-hour video diary “The Autobiography of Oldboy“, an incredible addition to the set. Updated details below: [...]
