Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon finally coming to Blu-ray in “Trilogy” Pack

At long last, the often promised Blu-ray edition of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is about to be released! I’m genuinely excited. I really enjoyed this film in the theatre and have been anxious to see Peter Pau’s gorgeous photography in 1080p. The bummer is that, in order to get the film on Blu, you have to spring for this ‘Trilogy’ three pack of movies which aren’t even really a trilogy. The films contained within are completely unrelated, outside of their genre and country of origin. So, what the hell kind of trilogy is this anyway?

If you’re looking for an individual disc release of Crouching Tiger, look toward ole’ Britania. The Uk gets a Region 2 (read: Region 1 players need not apply) Blu-ray release of Ang Lee’s wǔshù epic on July 6.

Make note: both the Curse of the Golden Flower and House of Flying Daggers discs are identical to their previous Region 1 pressings.
