Ong Bak 3 Blu-ray Disc Review

Ong Bak 3 is light on action and plot, heavy in spiritualism and dance, and unquestionably the weakest of martial-arts-marvel Tony Jaa’s films. Thank the ancient Thai forest gods (and eOne Films) for at least delivering the goods in a great looking, great sounding Blu-ray disc. …Continued…

Ong Bak 2: The Beginning Blu-ray Disc Review

I’m fairly certain that Tony Jaa is not a real human being. If he were flesh and blood, there’s no way he would be able to perform the stunts, the martial-arts mash-ups and acrobatics on display in the spectacle that is Ong Bak 2. For gods sake, the man surfs a herd of elephants here! Who can do that?! …Continued…

Blu-ray Picks for the Week of February 2

Okay, this is just ridiculous. I can’t afford all of these discs in one week! I had no idea that February would be such a big release month. Ong Bak coming to Blu-ray in February!

Good going Fox! In somewhat of a last-minute announcement, Fox has let us know that they’re bringing the original Ong Bak to Blu-ray on February 2nd! No doubt to fall in line with Magnet’s release of the sequel, Ong Bak 2: The Beginning, making it’s Blu-ray debut on the same date. What a great day that’s going to be for martial arts fans and Tony Jaa fans in particular. I, for one, can’t wait! Details below: …Continued…

My friend Rupert has been lending me his Tony Jaa films lately (I promise, I’ll give them back soon!) and I’m totally blown away by the guy. Jaa that is, not Rupert (Um…you’re ok too, Rupert.) He’s a sort of modern, Thai Bruce Lee. The fighting style is totally different but the speed, elegance and raw ability to kick ass are very similar. I’m happy to see that Magnolia is bringing Jaa’s latest film, Ong Bak 2: The Beginning to Blu-ray in February. Details below: …Continued…
