Is Remember Me a film to remember? Well, Robert Pattinson – henceforth referred to as Vampire Boy – plays Tyler, a broody, introverted youth simultaneously refusing and craving love … obviously the role was chosen to showcase the versatility of his acting chops. To be fair, Vampire Boy can act, and on top of being competent he’s easy to watch. It’s a shame the Twilight series will forever damage his cred. I thought I’d follow up my viewing of a classic film about Greek mythology with a brand new, modern film about Greek mythology! I can’t say that I’m surprised that Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief is a far, far cry from Harryhausen’s Jason and the Argonauts and actually has way more in common with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It’s been a hell of a week. I don’t know if you’ve been following Twitter as we suffer through the odyssey that is keeping The Blu-ray Blog online, but I’ve been forced to take the site down and rebuild it TWICE in the last seven days! You know Blu-ray disc has finally hit the big-time when little sites that talk about it, like this one become targets. This movie kicks my ass. Timothy Dalton kicks my ass. What was the public thinking back in the 80s, not turning out in droves to support the man in his second outing as super not-so-secret British agent James Bond?
