I really enjoyed Attack the Block. It’s a solid little indie film that’s got a very contemporary Goonies feel to it – if the Goonies were little London thugs defending their neighbourhood from nasty aliens. While Sony has yet to announce the release of the film on Blu-ray, Amazon has listed it for pre-order, without, of course, any details or release date. Thank goodness for the e-tailer’s Canadian counterpart, Amazon.ca, who have the Blu-ray scheduled for release on October 25th, with a suggested retail price of $35.99 CAN. We don’t have any package art or any idea what supplemental material Sony will include on the disc yet but it’s fairly likely their release will mimic the UK Blu from Optimum. …Continued…
Oh geez. I can’t afford this. Nobody can afford this. This is an inordinate amount of awesomeness for one week. Three Criterion discs, three classics from Studio Canal, a Scorsese, an anime anthology, Audrey Tautou and faux-vintage blaxploitation.
