My head is still buzzing from the Black Friday/Cyber Monday madness! I spent waaaay too much money on Blu-ray discs over the last week (like I really needed more.) I should learn to exert a modicum of self control with these things. Anyway, I think you’ll find this weeks new releases to be a somewhat calm return to normalcy, with a bunch of underwhelming new titles and some surprising catalogue ones. Kick-Ass coming to Blu-ray in August

I didn’t mind Kick-Ass, a fairly faithful adaptation of Mark Millar’s hit comic book and will happy to watch it again on Blu-ray when it streets this August. Take a look at the video above for a preview of one of the many featurettes that will appear on the disc. In addition, the Blu-ray will feature an exclusive function that will allow iPhone OS and Android users to access added content and functionality through a free downloadable application. Annnnnd we’re back. It’s been a long, long weekend for The Blu-ray Blog. Everyone was taking some time off, spending the days with family and just taking the opportunity to get in some rest and relaxation. I traveled back home to Ontario to celebrate my nephew’s tenth birthday! Many video-games were played. Many Blu-ray discs were watched. Many cupcakes were scarfed down. First Look bringing Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans to Blu-ray

Wow! I’m so glad that Werner Herzog’s bad-shit crazy Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans is coming to Blu-ray! I grudgingly gave up my press pass to my girlfriend’s parents when they were in town and missed it when it was in the theatres. Now, thanks to First Look Studios, I’ll get a second shot at enjoying it on April 6th! I can’t dig up any specs on the disc yet but Amazon has got the pre-order listed for only $18.49, which is low enough to make me bite, site-unseen. I’ll update the post with disc details when and if I get them. …Continued…
