Disney Pixar’s latest opus, Up premiered in cinemas this past summer, projected several stories high on the big screen, sporting the latest in razzle-dazzle digital 3D optics to sell it to a Hollywood-weary audience. Now, thanks to the glory of the high-def Blu-ray disc, Up has made its way into our home theatres but in only two-dimensions. I wasn’t going to do these weekly pick articles anymore. Every site has got one now. And it just seemed like this was the least interesting or original thing I could offer. I’m gutted that I didn’t get to see Up in the theatres. Thank the good lord and the folks at Disney for having the foresight to get it to me on Blu-ray as quickly as possible! While I’ll be happy to own the film on its own, those of you who need a little more collectable for your buck can grab the the disc in a limited edition ‘Up: Luxo Jr. Collectible Desk Lamp Set’ which comes with a replica Luxo Jr. desk lamp with storage base. Apparently you can store all your Pixar Blu-ray discs in it, if you’re so inclined. …Continued…
