Coppola’s The Conversation coming to Blu-ray

It occurs to me that I freak out about a lot of movies, claiming this one or the other is my favourite, or in my top 5 of all time list, or something. But honestly, I really do feel that way. I really am that passionate and in love with these films. I only bring this up because I know I’m about to say it all over again in reference to Francis Ford Coppola’s The Conversation. Hand on my heart, it’s honestly one of the best films ever made. One of my favourites. In my top 5. For reals. And now it’s heading to Blu-ray, from the same team who gave us last year’s nigh-on perfect Apocalypse Now Blu-ray releases. I can’t breathe. This is all too much. The Godfather: Part II Blu-ray Disc Review

I have strong feelings about The Godfather: Part II and I’m not sure where to start talking about them.

First, I guess I want to address the popular opinion that it’s a better film than its predecessor. It is not. It is inferior in many ways; the story is at times confusing and unnecessarily convoluted for the sake of adding ‘intrigue’; the characters behave insincerely, their actions often in service to the movement of the plot rather than their own hearts, and the ending is weak and unsatisfying. …Continued…
