It’s Tuesday and once again we’re faced with a potential wallet-emptying video store/amazon shopping experience! I hope you’ve been saving up because today is a doosey! …Continued…
I’m sorry to disappoint you, skin fans. But this is the infamous Diora Baird (The Wedding Crashers, Young People Fucking) cut scene from the upcoming Star Trek Blu-ray disc. One line of dialogue. No boobs. I mean, the scene is actually pretty funny, when taken in context of the film. But I think when it was announced that she would be playing a green-skinned Orion Slave Girl in the film, a lot of you had been getting your hopes up for something more along the lines of Ms. Baird’s previous clothing-optional celluloid appearances. Sadly, this was not to be. But hey, that’s what sequels are for right? …Continued…
I won’t watch this scene. Not yet. I’m waiting for the Star Trek Blu-ray to show up, so I can bury myself in it for two full weeks. I want my experience to be fresh. That being said, I’m so tempted to check out this deleted scene of Romulan ship Captain, Nero being interrogated by the Klingons! This Star Trek Blu-ray is going to be sooooo good! I apologize in advance if my review of the disc is biased in any way. It simply can’t be helped… …Continued…
Okay, I love this show. It may have taken damn-near the whole season to win me over completely, but they’ve got me now. I had been following it casually, checking out episodes whenever it was convenient. But now, having seen it all to the end, I have to admit that I won’t be waiting until next September to see season 2 on Blu-ray. I’ll be watching new episodes on TV every week. I’m now a Fringe-aholic. …Continued…
Ooooo. Wasn’t expecting this today. As far as news goes, this isn’t amongst the most hard-hitting or terribly exciting variety. But for crazed Star Trek fans (like me!) this is must-read news. Or must-SEE news, in this case. …Continued..
Holy crap. I just had a nerdgasm over here. I wasn’t even hunting for this preview of the Paramount’s upcoming Star Trek Blu-ray disk but there it was, on YouTube, begging me to watch it again and again. I can not wait to get my hands on this disc! And this trailer/preview has just ramped up my anticipation ten-fold. …Continued…
Ha! My Star Trek fandom knows no bounds these days! Check this out:
I was trolling Amazon today – y’know, because I don’t have enough films to watch between the stacks of screeners on my living room table and all the Fantasia Festival films I’m supposed to be covering right now – and stumbled across the Star Trek listing, which seems to feature the ACTUAL package art of the Bllu-ray release. I mean, until I get it directly from Paramount I won’t consider this confirmed but dollars to donuts, this is the real deal. …Continued…
(UPDATE: Paramount has sent us the press release with all the discs details)
I’m not sure I even understand this announcement. There’s a hologram on the Star Trek packaging? The Blu-ray box offers us an “augmented reality”? What? Huh?
So, it turns out that Paramount decided to sort-of officially announce the release date and features of the Blu-ray disc through an article in Variety last night. From the looks of things, we’re going to get the features we all expected (and that we wrote about previously) in a 1 or 2 disc DVD set and a 3 Disc Blu-ray set on November 17. Awesome! But I’ve gotta say, I’m pretty confused about the holographic “augmented reality” thing. Why don’t I just let Variety describe it to you: …Continued…
Harry Barber over at TNMC got his hands on a version of JJ Abrams’ Star Trek script. From the description he gives, it doesn’t sound like the shooting script (there’s a major difference involving the death of the villain’s henchman that would have required a solid round of rewrites) but it does give us a look at what some of the deleted scenes on the Blu-ray will reveal.
I’ll run them down, one by one but you’ve got to head on over to TNMC.org and check out the rest of Harry’s article. There’s some fantastic stuff there, if you’re a Star Trek fan. What you’re about to read below is just the tip of the iceberg! …Continued…
This news broke over at TrekMovie.com and was confirmed by Bill Hunt at the Digital Bits. German film sites have announced the upcoming release of JJ Abrams‘ Star Trek film on Blu-ray this October 5th and have outlined the full slate of bonus features. Everything here can be considered rumour until confirmed by Paramount with an official release announcement. Take note that release details often differ from region to region, so while this news might hold true for Germany or Europe, the North American and/or British discs may be vastly different.
The release date below can also taken lightly, as Paramount shifts their fall schedule around to accommodate the home video releases of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Monsters vs. Aliens, Imagine That and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, as well as, “a TON of big catalog titles”.
Do, however, feel free to get bat-shit excited about all the deleted scenes we’re going to see. This is the stuff everybody has been talking about and waiting for. The stuff that was excised from the film. Klingons!! Spock Prime (Leonard Nimoy) seeing his dad again!! More Kirk getting it on with the green gal!! Yeah! Life is good… …Continued…
