The Big Lebowski Limited Edition Blu-ray detailed

It looks like we had that August 16th release date correct! Universal has officially announced that date and the details of their upcoming Big Lebowski Blu-ray. This limited edition release will feature a brand spanking new transfer of the film, a 28-page book and brand new special features, along with all the old extras from the previously available 2-disc Anniversary DVD. The Big Lebowski coming to Blu-ray in August

Amazon.ca has spilled the beans that we can expect Universal to release the Coen brothers’ 1998 film The Big Lebowski on Blu-ray this coming August 16th. No details are yet available but it’s clear from the image of the included art that the disc will come packaged in a hardcover digi-book. …Continued…

Tron: Legacy/Tron: The Original Classic Blu-ray Disc Combo Pack Review

Tron: Legacy, the long awaited sequel to the original 1982 film, was released on Blu-ray this past week in a variety of configurations. I had a chance to screen the 5-Disc combo pack which includes the new film on 3D and 2D Blu-ray discs, along with DVD and Digital Copy versions. The Combo Pack also includes a Blu-ray of Tron: The Original Classic (as it’s now dubbed) in all its restored glory. This is an extraordinary release that falls just shy of being a fan’s dream come true. …Continued…

[VIDEO] Tron: Legacy Blu-ray with Disney Second Screen

If you happened to read my review of Disney‘s recent Bambi Blu-ray disc, you might have noticed how taken I was with the Second Screen feature – a downloadable app for either your PC or iPad that essentially provides you with a picture-in-picture experience that you can manipulate and participate in as the film progresses. I think it’s the most unique, best special feature to come to home video in ages. The upcoming Tron: Legacy Blu-ray will be the second Disney disc to include the Second Screen feature. Coen Brothers’ True Grit coming to Blu-ray

Paramount Pictures has announced that it will bring the Coen brothers’ adaptation of True Grit to Blu-ray this coming June 7th, packed to the gills with all sorts of goodies ranging from featurettes on period weapons and costumes to an exclusive look at the photography of the film. It’s a shame we’ll never see a commentary track from the brothers because I’d give my left arm to hear them gab about putting their trademark spin on the original material. …Continued…

Tron: Legacy and Tron: The Original Classic Blu-ray discs Available for Pre-order

All right! It looks like Tron Blu-ray news is beginning to come in all fast and furious-like, with pre-orders for several disc configurations of Legacy and the original flavour showing up on Amazon along with some package art, special feature listings, a nifty “Limited Edition Identity-Disc” package and a possible April release date. With this much on the table, there’s little doubt that we’re on the cusp of seeing an official announcement from Disney. …Continued…

I went to see Tron: Legacy with my nephew on my birthday last month and, I’ve got to tell you, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the film. It looks and sounds phenomenal!
