You’ve got to know by now that I’m just bursting to get my hands on Fox’s upcoming Alien Anthology Blu-ray boxed set. Well, this new trailer promoting the discs might not provide any new information but it has managed to ramp up my anticipation ten-fold. October 26th can’t come soon enough, if you ask me! …Continued…
Oh god oh geez oh god oh geez. This is fracking amazing! Fox has officially (finally!) announced their mega-awesome Alien Anthology Blu-ray boxed set and it appears to be everything we’ve been praying for and more! …Continued…
Blu-ray.com has been digging deep, scouring the Euro-web for every whiff of a hint of information regarding the impending Alien Anthology Blu-ray boxed set from Fox. And thanks to mega-sites Planete HD and DVD Duell they’ve come up with the gold – a long, long list of potential bonus features, packaging ideas and a possible French release date. BAM! Well done, guys. Details below: …Continued…
Remember how I had trouble getting inspired to pick up one of last weeks new Blu-ray releases? Well, let me tell you, that’s so far from being an issue this week. There’s actually just way, way too many quality discs coming out over the next few days, from a couple of new Criterion releases, an Oscar winner and the biggest box office blockbuster of 2009. This is a going to hurt my wallet something fierce. …Continued…
Holy crap! Fox hit the afterburners and broke the sound barrier with all their new announcements yesterday. As part of their year long 75th Anniversary celebration, the studio is going to be bringing some of their most critically acclaimed catalogue titles to Blu-ray (and DVD, of course.) They’ve provided a first sneak peek at what they’ve got in store for us later on in 2010: …Continued…
I…don’t even know what to say about this Alien Anthology teaser trailer. I can’t say for sure it’s not fan made, though I suspect it’s not. It looks pretty slick, like something Fox would produce to promote a Blu-ray box set. What I can say for sure is that it really doesn’t give us any new information about the impending release of this supposedly killer boxed set. There are a lot of rumours floating around regarding release dates, packaging (see two possible examples below), and a veritable cornucopia of new special features like Sigourney Weaver commentary tracks and other documentary extras produced by the incredible Charles De Lauzirika (producer of the Blade Runner Blu-ray set). But until we get an official announcement from the studio, consider everything about this Anthology to be conjecture…Including this trailer. …Continued…
I’ve got to admit, this trailer for Fox’s upcoming Avatar Blu-ray makes the release look pretty tasty. Is it just me or have they bumped up the saturation here? It’s all a lot more vivid and … blue than I recall it looking in the cinema. Perhaps the Imax 3D glasses I was wearing dulled the image down sufficiently to sap some of the blue from the alien skin. Anyway, I’m now sold on this Avatar Blu-ray. Even though this edition will only be in 2D I have a feeling these visuals are going to be pretty spectacular on Blu-ray. We only have to wait until Earth Day, April 22nd to find out for sure. …Continued…
Well, now look at that. It’s official. Fox has finally admitted it. Avatar is being released on Blu-ray and DVD on Earth Day, April 22nd, just like director James Cameron said it would. Just like every media outlet under the sun was reporting. Sigh…I hate these PR games. Why can’t we all just get along? …Continued…
Most of the films that took home an Oscar statue are either already available on Blu-ray or have been announced to be released on the format soon ….Continued…
All right. I guess I’ve been avoiding a couple of things on the blog lately. Specifically, I haven’t posted any of the multitude of rumours about James Cameron’s epic hit film, Avatar coming to Blu-ray. And I’ve also been avoiding the whole 3D thing. While the two topics seem to be intrinsically attached, I’m going to try to focus on Avatar alone today. I’ve got so much to say about this whole 3D-in-the-home business that I think it warrants its own article. …Continued…
