All right. I guess I’ve been avoiding a couple of things on the blog lately. Specifically, I haven’t posted any of the multitude of rumours about James Cameron’s epic hit film, Avatar coming to Blu-ray. And I’ve also been avoiding the whole 3D thing. The Alien Quadrilogy Blu-ray boxed set that was revealed in European flyers last year may not ever make it to our shores. Bill Hunt over at our favourite home video site, The Digital Bits has posted an update to his Rumour Mill release notes, stating that a lot the titles reported as candidates for 2009 release have now been pushed back to 2010. No, Bill! Say it ain’t so! I had my heart set on seeing some high-def Raiders of the Lost Ark and Alien this year! You’ve just ruined Christmas for all the boy’s and girls!

This image recently appeared in a promotional flyer tucked inside the latest James Bond Blu-ray box sets in France.
We’ve known for quite a while that the Alien Quadrilogy Blu-ray box was in the cards but this flyer, stating that the set is “Coming Soon” is the first solid proof that we might see it on store shelves before the end of the year. Early reports have confirmed that it will replicate all of the special features of the previously issued DVD collection, while adding some “new and expanded extra content.”
