    I admit. This has nothing to do with Blu-ray. I mean, I really hope that when the time comes, Disney will release this new, Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes animated series on Blu but I’m not going to hold my breath.

    I don’t know how I’ve missed this trailer (apparently it’s been kicking around for quite some time) but when I watched it this morning I got so excited, I had to post it up on the site. Yes, I love superhero cartoons. Sue me.

    Here’s what Disney has to say about their new show:

      “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes (52 episodes) – a new Tween 9-14-targeted series produced by Marvel Animation for Disney XD and DisneyXD.com that will premiere fall 2010. The series stars Marvel heroes Iron Man, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, Giant Man and Wasp, who together form the Avengers. The series will be supported by a 20-part “micro-series” that will explore the back-story of each character and will rollout this fall followed by the series. After its US debut the series will then make its way around the world.”

    marvel-anime-comic-con-posterOk. I really wasn’t expecting this. Marvel has teamed up with renowned Japanese animation studio Madhouse (Paprika, Tokyo Godfathers) and multiple-Eagle Award winning writer Warren Ellis to create four new animated television series to begin airing in Japan next year. The comic book publisher released trailers for two of the anime adaptations of their classic superhero stories last night at San Diego’s Comic-Con International. No word yet on what the other two shows might end up being.
