The Prisoner: The Complete Series Details, Press Release

I’ve said it before (in many posts!) and I’ll say it again – I loves me some Prisoner! Coupled with my love for Blu-ray, you can imagine how I’m just bursting at the seams to get this new Complete Series Blu-ray boxed set from A&E. Thanks to our friends over TVShowsOnDVD.com, we’ve got this full press release, detailing all the goodness that was Patrick McGoohan’s 17 episode long baby.

The good news – the 5 Disc Blu-ray collection of The Prisoner: The Complete Series is hitting store shelves on October 27th and we’ve got the package art for you! Lord of the Rings Blu-ray Box Set Details

Here we go! A full list of the special features to appear in the Lord of the Rings Box-set, hitting shelves this November 3rd. You’ll notice, if you ever owned any of these in their theatrical cut DVD editions, that the Blu-ray versions are almost identical in every way. The Prisoner Confirmed for Blu-ray in October

Remember when I was all excited about The Prisoner coming to Blu-ray in the UK? Yeah, well, that didn’t last long. Seems that publisher, Network gave the discs the kibosh pretty damn quickly. I mean, I’m sure they’ll turn up on a release list again in the near future but for now there isn’t a hint of ‘em.

So, imagine my surprise and delight when I discovered that A&E has made an early announcement that The Prisoner will be released on Blu-ray in North America on October 27th! Hot damn! Now, not only won’t I have to worry about import costs but suddenly any region coding will work in my favour. YES! (sorry, peeps across the pond) Sadly, no other information is given but you can bet we’ll see a port of the previously released DVD features and a handful of promotional pieces for AMC’s upcoming remake which should, coincidentally enough, be released around the same time as the Blu-ray disc set. …Continued…
