Blu-ray Picks for the Week of September 29 – The Wizard of Oz

What a huge release week filled with amazing titles! Sadly, I haven’t gotten my hands on a single Blu-ray disc yet so I can’t out-and-out recommend any of them from personal experience. The Dark Crystal Blu-ray Details Confirmed

At long last, we have a final confirmation of all the details of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s upcoming The Dark Crystal Blu-ray release!

It was over a month ago that the UK version was officially announced (which we covered here) but at the time, there were no official details available for the disc nor any information on a North American Blu-ray disc. Now we’ve got it all! And the disc looks great. Can’t wait to get my hands on this one when it comes to Canada in September.

I’m still curious about the much-rumoured sequel, The Power of the Dark Crystal, directed by Genndy Tartakovsky of Samurai Jack fame. I heard, once upon a time, that Brian Froud was involved again and that the production was ramping up. I’m excited about the notion of more Gelfling action. How about you? …Continued…
