I’m not saying that Marvel movies can do no wrong (hell, we all remember Daredevil and Elektra) but this run of films from Marvel Studios, beginning with Iron Man and leading to next summer’s The Avengers has proven a pretty exciting series of films. Thor sits firmly in the middle of the established timeline thus far and also sits firmly in the middle of the films in terms of quality. It’s nowhere near as solid as Iron Man but nowhere near as flawed as Iron Man 2. …Continued…
Thor is coming out on Blu-ray next week! Mister Canada Post-man literally just delivered my review copy a few minutes ago and I can’t tell you how excited I am to dive into it. For those of you looking to pick up the Blu next week and willing to pre-order today, Amazon has got a great deal for you.
Here’s a short clip from the Marvel One-Shot: The Consultant short film that will be on the Thor Blu-ray, in stores September 13th. The film features Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson of SHIELD, who you’ll remember from damn near every Marvel film produced in the last few years. Marvel is planning a series of these One Shot short films starring Gregg, with the next one being A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor’s Hammer, due to turn up on the Captain America: The First Avenger Blu-ray later in the year. …Continued…
Aha!! That’s more like it! Details!!! A few weeks back we posted early info on the upcoming Thor Blu-ray releases but now Paramount has provided us with all the goods. In addition, we spied the trailer above on the Marvel YouTube account, which gives a fairly descriptive rundown of the disc and its special features. Check it out! …Continued…
Marvel Comics mighty God of Thunder will bring the hammer down on Blu-ray this September 13th with the release of a couple of feature packed editions of the summer blockbuster, Thor! …Continued…
It’s actually another rather large week of new Blu-ray releases. No new Criterion Collection discs of which to speak but there are plenty of fantastic catalogue titles from the other studios to keep you interested. …Continued…
This Valentine’s Day offers up a host of new Blu-ray titles to celebrate love, lust and a lazy night in front of your hi-def TV!
Oh geez. I’m all confused here. There are just too many titles hitting shelves again this week but no obvious “must-buy” disc, as far as I’m concerned. The new Hollywood blockbuster remakes all stumble in the storytelling department, the catalogue titles feature far-from-perfect presentations and there are just no damn Criterion titles as far as the eye can see! But don’t fear, if none of the brand spanking new titles do it for you this week, I’m sure you can find something in the massive batch of Eastwood newly released or re-released, as the case may be, on Blu-ray! Seriously, how many movies did has that guy made?! …Continued…
Has this film really been in theatres so long now that it’s already on the verge of being released on Blu-ray? This is almost depressing! I still haven’t found the free time to get out and see The Wolfman in the cinema and I’ve been pretty bummed about that. But now, seeing that the Blu-ray edition of the film is being listed for sale in the UK this coming June 14th, I feel it’s a pretty safe bet that it’ll turn up on this side of the Atlantic around the same date, guaranteeing that I’ll have a chance to check it out before Halloween 2010 rolls around. …Continued…
I really, really, really love The Mask of Zorro! It’s very nearly a perfect adventure movie, with wonderful action sequences that harken back to the best swashbuckling moments in Douglas Fairbanks and Errol Flynn movies of old. …Continued…
