W00T! The best ever Marvel Studios film is on its way to Blu-ray! But we’re gonna have to wait ’till September to get our grabby mitts on it. Captain America: The Winter Soldier succeeds on all levels as a film and I suspect it’ll smash some Blu-ray records when it hits shelves in a few months. Sad to see that the studio is skipping it’s usual “One Shot” short film for this release, though. Does that mean they’re done with the concept for good or do they simply have something bigger and better up their sleeves?
- “The Winter Soldier is helmed by directing team Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch, production designer Peter Wenham, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. and three time Oscar-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky. “
