REVIEW:
Ron Burgundy might not be as much of a big deal as he was in years past but Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues still manages to elicit loads of laughs, ushering the mustachioed anchor with salon-quality hair into the ‘80s era of the 24-hour cable news channel.
Paramount delivers a damn-near perfect Blu-ray experience for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues with exceptional looking transfers of the film on both the theatrical and extended cuts of the film (contained on Disc One of the set) as well as for the unnecessarily long “super-size” R-rated edit that clocks in at nearly two hours long (on Disc Two of the set.) The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 tracks are equally as near-perfect, bringing the kind of big, dynamic bombast you’d expect from an action film, not a comedy!
The Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues Blu-ray set continues to impress with its bonus features, stacking the discs with a veritable cornucopia of comedy. From the commentary track, to the deleted scenes, to the fantastic two-part Gag Reel piece, you’ll probably laugh as much at the extras as you do at the film itself.
