These are some of my favourite films of all time. If you’ve read this blog for a while, this won’t come as any surprise to you. I had the pleasure of seeing the newest Ghibli film, The Secret World of Arrietty a few weeks back before it left the first run cinemas here in Montreal, and now the city is smack dab in the middle of a festival of Miyazaki movies! In fact, I just watched Castle in the Sky on the big screen in a fairly clean, quite impressive 35mm print! Bliss. Can’t wait to see how brilliant these upcoming Blu-ray presentations look. All three new discs – Arrietty, Castle and the wonderful, rarely seen Whisper of the Heart – will be on store shelves on May 22nd.
