If you kept up with my Fantasia Festival coverage a few weeks back you no doubt read that I really enjoyed Yuen Woo-Ping‘s True Legend, the famed director/combat choreographer’s take on the popular legend of the master of drunken kung-fu. As I said in my review of the film, the first three quarters are pretty awesome, featuring some amazing martial arts and one of the coolest villains I’ve seen on screen in ages. Sadly, the final act of the film is a bit of a dud, despite the well choreographed action and the final film appearance of the late David Carradine. But hey, nobody’s perfect, right? That said, I’m excited to dive into the Blu-ray release of the film, due on shelves next Tuesday, September 13th from Indomina and Vivendi. Details below:
