80s flashback!! As much as I enjoyed the original Karate Kid back in the day, I have to admit that I’ve always been a sucker for its sequel. From the picturesque Okinawan scenery, to the lovely Tamlyn Tomita, all the way to the awesome theme song by ex-Chicago singer, Peter Cetera (‘The Glory of Love’!!), I always felt that the second part of the story was a step up from the first. And speaking of stepping up, check out that height difference on Daniel-san between the two films! Wow! That kid really shot up between the end of the karate tournament and his ride back home. Needless to say, I’m pretty excited to have a chance to see these two films again, this time on Blu-ray. And I’m not at all sad that Sony isn’t releasing Part 3 and The Next Karate Kid along with them. Those two films are just pale imitations of the genius of Parts 1 and 2! WAX ON!
