Hey! Look at that! Gremlins is coming out on Blu-ray disc tomorrow, September 29th! Who knew? Apparently Warner has given Target a timed exclusive on the 1984 Joe Dante film but while we’ll no doubt see it in shops everywhere eventually, Gremlins has yet to be officially announced by the studio. The disc details seem to mirror those of the previously available DVD – a couple of commentaries, a featurette and some deleted scenes. Not too bad but nothing new and exciting there. I am, however expecting this one to look fairly impressive in this latest incarnation. Apparently Dante was unhappy with the Blu-ray transfer of Gremlins initially presented to him by Amblin. He sent it back to be corrected to his spec and Amblin was happy to oblige. I take that as a sign of good things to come on this disc! Details below:
