EINS! ZWEI! DIE! Zombie Film Fest Darling 'Dead Snow' comes to Blu-ray in the UK

Ok, I guess it’s officially Zombie day here on the The Blu-ray Blog, what with the Shaun of the Dead story and the Living Dead at Manchester Morgue announcement. Let’s add one more title then, shall we: the blood soaked, foot dragging, Heil Hitler-ing zombie-fest from Norway, Dead Snow.

Dead Snow Blu-rayI can’t wait to see this. It’s playing over the next few weeks here in Montreal at the Fantasia Film Festival. It’s been a big hit at every fest it’s played at, making a critical ‘killing’ (sorry) at Sundance. And now it’s on it’s way to Blu-ray. But only in the UK. Figures…

There aren’t any specs on the disc yet but come August 31st you can nab yourself a copy of Dead Snow from Amazon.co.uk (and other UK retailers) for £22.99 or less.

From the Fantasia site:

“Important lesson: Don’t mess with Nazi gold. The Nazis may be dead but they sure ain’t gone and there are few things in life less pleasant than a squad of undead Nazis pissed off because you pocketed a fistful of their treasure. A group of eight Norwegian medical students are headed to a remote cabin in the mountains for some R&R over their Easter break, seven of them travelling by car while the eighth opts for a lengthy cross-country hike. The seven pass the time waiting for their final friend in typical fashion—beer, sledding and flirtation—until tension over her failure to arrive on time begins to creep in and the mood finally tips over the edge, thanks to a mysterious stranger who arrives with a local tale of Nazi torture, stolen treasure and a squad of missing soldiers. Cue the carnage.”

If that doesn’t make you want to see Dead Snow, I don’t know what will. Learn more about the film and the filmmakers at the Fantasia site.

  1. You have a typo in your post-title … the blu-ray title spells “Ein! Zwei! Die!” not “Zwie” ;-) Besides that the title has a wrong German grammar anyways … it should be “Eins! …”
