Severin Films loves them some Italian cult cinema from the 70s and so do I! I’m crazy-excited that they’ve finally jumped over to Blu and hoping for the best as they bring us the two war films that Enzo Castellari is most famous for: The Inglorious Bastards and Eagles over London (AKA Battle Squadron). I’m hoping that these are such a massive success that Severin delves deeper into the Castellari library and unearths some of his spectacular spaghetti westerns like Seven Winchesters for a Massacre and Keoma (AKA Django Rides Again). And they may find that success when Quentin Tarantino‘s “remake” of Bastards (oddly mispelled “Inglourious Basterds“) hits screens this summer, driving a desire in cinephile’s to check out the original.

One of the most amazing films I’ve seen this year, proving that Tarantino can successfully shift his spaghetti-like esthetics to historical scripts.
