Bruce Lee, ready to kick-ass and take names on Blu-ray this June
I’m not much of a gamer but since getting a hold of Street Fighter 4 I’ve been mashing buttons like a mad man. Yes sir, the old thumb-callouses are back! Also making a triumphant return is my passion for Kung-Fu cinema. I’ve been watching a lot of Bruce Lee lately. So this news is a welcome surprise!
Hong Kong based distributor Kam & Ronson have announced that they’ve secured the rights to bring four of Bruce Lee’s films to Blu-ray! In fact, they’re partnering with Fortune Star, which possesses the rights to over 600 titles, largely from the Golden Harvest film library. Bruce Lee’s films The Big Boss, The Way of the Dragon, Enter the Dragon and Fist of Fury will be available in Hong Kong and Macau this June.
As amazing as this news is, it’s still not putting Blu-ray Bruce on shelves at your local Best Buy. You’ll be relieved to know however that Kam & Ronson discs have a history of included English subtitles, region free pressings and availability from import shops like DDDHouse and YesAsia. Hell we may even see them on Amazon if we’re lucky! Now let’s just cross our fingers and pray for some decent transfers!
