Criterion has announced an April 24th release date for Clouzot‘s The Wages of Fear and Nagisa Oshima‘s In The Realm of the Senses, the latter of which is day and date with its DVD counterpart. Details have yet to be confirmed but we can no doubt expect 1080p AVC transfers with some sort of lossless audio. The Wages of Fear extras appear on a second disc in the DVD edition and will most likely appear on the same disc as the feature for the Blu-ray release. What we can’t be sure of is if we’ll see the 24 page booklet included in the package. Until we know for sure, here’s a rundown of the details from the Criterion website:

- New and improved English subtitle translation
- PLUS: A booklet featuring a new essay by Japanese film scholar Donald Richie and a reprinted interview with Oshima
